State Senator Mario Mattera awarded proclamations to members of the state champion CHS boys and girls soccer teams during a visit to the high school on Tuesday afternoon.

Back in November, the Cougars became the first Suffolk County high school ever to capture New York State boys and girls state soccer titles in the same postseason.

It marked the third state title in program history for the boys team and the first in program history for the girls team.
